For many years I tried everything to clear my skin.  I balanced my insulin levels, healed my gut and supported my liver.  But I just couldn’t stop my lingering break-outs, even though they had improved tremendously.

And I also couldn’t stop drinking wine.

I associated wine with fun and relaxation.  There was nothing I loved better than to get dressed up and go out with friends for the evening and get tipsy and silly.  And when I was at home there was nothing as relaxing as sipping wine and watching Netflix. Alcohol was a huge part of my life.

As it turns out, it was actually taking over my life.

Finally, my husband decided to give up alcohol and turn it over to his higher power, if you know what I mean.  I immediately gave up alcohol completely as well, as a show of emotional support.

What happened next was the biggest miracle in my life.

Firstly (and most importantly), my husband and I were able to repair our relationship and devote ourselves more fully to our family.

Secondly, all my lingering health problems completely vanished.  My insomnia went away, my skin completely cleared up and my hair loss stopped.  I felt unbelievable! It was like I had a new lease on life.

Now, you definitely don’t have to completely stop drinking alcohol for the rest of your life to have clear skin.  But you do need to understand how alcohol affects your skin and the best way to incorporate alcohol into your life, including learning about the best alcoholic drinks for acne. To learn all about how alcohol contributes to acne (there are 7 huge physiological reactions that are created by alcohol that can lead to acne) and what you can do to minimize its effects on your skin check out my video below. xo, Dr. Stacey
